| Q: | There are too many 192 interfaces displayed in Pro Tools. |
| A: | I have the AD-16X and DA-16X with an X-HD card installed in each unit. I have both interfaces connected to the Digidesign Core card with no other interfaces in the system. I was under the impression that if I connected an AD-16X and a DA-16X that it would show up as one Digidesign 192 Digital. In the Hardware Setup in Pro Tools, I see two 192 Digitals displayed. What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you have the AD-16X and DA-16X in Advanced Routing mode. If you press and hold the “UP” button while powering the unit on, you should see “Apogee AD16” or "Apogee DA16" on the display. This would indicate that the unit is in Standard Routing mode. If the same message appears but is followed by “2.0”, that would indicate the unit is in Advanced Routing mode. In Advanced Routing mode you have 16 analog inputs and 16 digital outputs available on the AD-16X. On the DA-16X you have 16 digital inputs and 16 analog outputs. In this configuration, Pro Tools will see two 192 Digitals.
You can find more information about this on pages 8-10 of the AD-16X user's guide or pages 7-9 of the DA-16X user's guide. |
| Q: | All inputs and outputs do not show up in Pro Tools. |
| A: | I have the AD-16X, DA-16X and the X-HD cards connecting them to Pro Tools. In the Hardware Setup in Pro Tools I only see 8 analog inputs and outputs and 8 digital inputs and outputs. How can I choose 16 analog inputs and outputs?
The channels that show up as digital in the Pro Tools Hardware Setup are actually analog 9-16 when using Apogee devices. |
