Sirius Satellite Radio Chooses Apogee’s
Live recording is Sirius business. With no second chance to get it right, Sirius relies on Apogee’s Rosetta 800 when quality, efficiency and reliability are all pre-requisites for the job. But regardless of what channel you are tuned in to, the broadcast has to be first-class, especially when it is live, because one take leaves no margin of error. At the recent recording at CBGBs in New York, Patti Smith alongside Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers gave an unbelievable live performance that Sirius Radio broadcast on their Sirius Disorder 24 channel. Matthew Galek, Sirius’ Sound Engineer, explains, “We use Apogee converters anytime we need I/O of the top quality that we can rely on for broadcast purposes.”
