Achieved with three AD-8000 Special Edition Units At the heart of the sound for magical blockbuster Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ("Sorcerer's Stone" in the US for some unknown reason) were three Apogee AD-80000 Special Edition units. They were chosen by technical consultant and music editor Jon Olive (evidently no Muggle) for the final dub of the movie. The mix was completed at Shepperton Film Studios, where the Apogee units were used for the play-out of John Williams' extensive music score that is audible during the much of the running time of the movie, with its series of "leitmotif"-like themes that accompany characters and places in the film.
The Apogee systems were supplied by Apogee dealer GearBox in London, who also supplied the Apogee gear for HBO mini-series Band of Brothers |
