Director of Operations
Apogee is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations professional with a track record of leadership and transformation within a dynamic, fast paced environment in a rapidly growing company. Reporting to the CEO, you will be an integral part of the management team collaborating with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to drive transformational change to achieve target inventory levels, process efficiencies, high product quality, reduced cycle times, and customer-focus. The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in progressive Manufacturing or Operations leadership positions with a proven track record in managing the functions of Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain logistics and Contract Manufacturing. In addition, the successful candidate should have international experience preferably with China and Taiwan.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall production, quality and timely delivery of products within established budgets and goals.
- Responsible for all phases of manufacturing efficiency, including control of costs, inventory, burden rate, material and manufacturing variances, etc.
- Responsible for managing programs from concept to manufacturing, including aligning inter-departmental schedules and deliverables, supply chain management for parts delivery and logistics, creating production build forecasts and executing against sales plans.
- Manage manufacturing engineering and test group to improve products in production and for new product introductions
- Deploy lean manufacturing tools to improve efficiencies
- Support continuous improvement programs through leadership and training
- Lead efforts to develop and maintain best in class supply chain and procurement processes, including organization and strong partnerships with suppliers worldwide.
- Manage plans to increase manufacturing effectiveness through people, process and equipment
- Participate with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and listening skills a must
- Ability to communicate and work with international supply and customer base
- A sound pattern of using facts and data to solve problems and come up with innovative solutions
- A proven leader who welcomes change and can build a positive work environment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, team building techniques, Corrective action teams, statistical process control and Manufacturing Engineering systems is a plus
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business, Masters preferred
- Strong financial and business analytical skills
- Experience in Consumer Electronics industry is highly desirable
- 10+ years of professional progressive employee management experience
